Tomato, in his article, has given the absolute best and most straightforward argument regarding the Giegue-Giygas situation in all its theories and disputes. So I suppose that means there is no hope for the sake of argument regarding articles such as mine and DarkStarman's and Steve Dodge's. As the staff article writer staff article writing about this debate, I give you no complex theories and no mile high debates. Facts are facts, and perhaps Tomato is right in saying that Giegue and Giygas are one in the same, diagrams, screenshots and the whole shebang. I have an age-old proverb instead. Anything is possible. I could write a whole article on how the Phase Distorter affects the identity of the evil archetypes in the whole series. According to the translation factors depicted in "The Truth of it All," the two archetype nemeses have the same name. I guess that means they're the same then, right?
Suppose some other person hooks up to the net and out of one in one billion odds decides on the nick Ultimoo. I guess that means he's exactly the same as me, right? So if you get an e-mail from an "Ultimoo" with a different e-mail address it still must be me. The translators translate the dialogue. They don't write it. From hard evidence I must admit he is not. Speaking of which, I don't know about anybody else who has had theories concerning this debate, but I have never even heard of a fanfic in which Giegue is in difference with Giygas.
I have played both games, unaware of any quirks in the translation process, and had concluded from a complete optimism of the context the theories found in "The (Original) Mother Connection." As for the general reading audience of the articles of both myself, and Tomato, I give you no encouragement to maintain further belief that Giegue and Giygas are different entities. And as I said before, there is a miniscule chance that what Tomato has shown us differs from the original ideas instilled in the EarthBound series. There is always chance perhaps that the evil of EarthBound is a clone of the evil in Mother, or a cronie with the same name, or whatever. Not even the Japanese players would know of a difference thought out behind the scenes to begin with. I cannot blame you one bit for discarding any idea you may have had that Giegue and Giygas are different. I am pretty well convinced myself that they are the same. But until I sit down with Shigesato Itoi and proceed with an interrogation, there will never be a 100fdd99330ercent rest. On one final note, anyone's rebuttals or reactions should appear in the forum. I will have to release the terrors of Mini-Moo if I see one more article with the word "connection" in the title.
